Adoptions - How it Works
Once a cat/kittens has been turned over to us, we give it medical attention and bring it current on shots. Our cats/kittens are spayed or neutered as a part of the adoption contract. In some cases, a cat/kitten may require socializing before it can be placed. If socializing is necessary, it remains in a foster home until it is ready to be placed.
Why an adoption fee?
The adoption fee, $95 (discounts given for multiple adoptions), partially covers the cost of feeding, FVRCP vaccines, FELV/FIV Blood Test, spay or neutering and other medical attention required by cats/kittens we are fostering. JCR normally fosters up to fifty cats - sometime more during kitten season.
How do we find homes?
Every Saturday at a local facility, we have many of our cats available for you to meet. We will discuss what you are looking for in a feline companion and see if any of the cats we have available would be a good match for you.
If you are looking for a particular kind of cat, we will take your name and phone number. If we get in a cat matching that description, we will contact you.
Kittens
If you want to raise a litter of kittens, and are experienced with the care and handling of unweaned kittens, we will put you on our "Foster Family" list. We are always looking for good foster homes.
We have a return policy, if for some reason the adoption does not work out.
Kitty consignment
If you need to find a new home for your cat or kitten, we can make your cat part of our Saturday event. You must contact us by Wednesday to reserve a cage for the following Saturday. We require the cat be up to date on its shots, and be spayed or neutered. You are required to keep your cat or kitten during the week, until it is placed.
